Jen on Honey out mustering in the NT

Chats Suzie Q or Honey as she is known at home is by a son of renowned AQHA Performance stallion Docs Boab, the Highlight of his stud career was siring the top three placings of the prestigious Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge in 1996, and the dam of “Nonda Let’s Talk Later” Warwick Gold Cup winner in 2000. Honey’s sire Docs Donovan is an open campdraft winning stallion and has progeny who have won and placed in cutting, campdrafting, pony club and aqha performance. Honey is the preferred mount of my 6 year old daughter Janet, and together they have racked up an impressive pile of ribbons at pony club.

2013 filly out of chats susie Q by Shahrak (Quarab filly)

Honey herself has been trained and shown in cutting and campdrafting, she won many placings and starts in both Two Handed Cutting, Novice and Ladies Drafts, she is a quiet, unflappable mare with a very easy going laid back nature that she passes to all her foals. Honey has been retired from competition and now teaches the kids to ride between producing some lovely young stock for us.

2009 Colt by Cayuse Mighty Windstorm (appaloosa)

in 2008 we bred honey to cayuse mighty wind storm and this cross produced a buckskin blanket colt who we named rocking m ima stormy q, this colt was the first ever foal born and bred under the rocking m prefix. This colt was sold as a stud horse to a lady in Brisbane, and the following year Honey lost a pally filly (still born) to Major Decision.

We rebred her the following season and from that mating we produced a red dun filly by Major Decision, which due to a tragic paddock accident that saw him put down, was to be his last foal on the ground. This filly was sold to Melbourne as a barrel racing horse and the new owners have been thrilled with her temperament and easy going ways.

In 2010 we bred Honey to our resident QH stallion, the Australian National Champion Hez Juz Seekin T Be Cool, on the 10th of November she foaled a huge leggy palomino colt with 3 stockings and a sock, and a huge blaze. He has as such been named “Blaze” by Janet. This colt has his dam and sire’s lovely nature, and is everything we hoped for in this breeding. Honey was bred to our Arabian sire Shahrak in 2012 for a Quarab baby. This filly exceeded all my expectations and has been retained as a future saddle, show and broodmare prospect.
