Peptobluesmal (imp) is a own daughter of the legendary Peptoboonsmal who was out of Royal Blue Boon, the leading cutting dam of all time, and sired by the Legend of cutting horses Peppy San Badger.
Peptoboonsmal (Peppy San Badger-Royal Blue Boon by Boon Bar), foaled in 1992, was bred by Larry Hall, Weatherford, Texas. He won $180,487 in National Cutting Horse Association money as a 3- and 4-year-old under Gary Bellenfant’s saddle, highlighted by the 1995 National Cutting Horse Association Futurity open championship.
Peptoboonsmal’s offspring earnings across all disciplines exceeds $20 million. He has been a top cutting horse sire every year since his first foal crop came of show age in 2001. His NRCHA-performing foals have won $1,152,368.59. The top-earning cow horse sired by Peptoboonsmal is the 2005 red roan stallion Smart Boons (out of Smart Little Easter by Smart Little Lena), owned by Kevin and Sydney Knight. Shown primarily by NRCHA $1 million rider Corey Cushing, Smart Boons earned $191,273, including the 2009 NRCHA Derby open championship, before retiring from the show pen in 2012
Other leading cow horses by Peptoboonsmal include the 2001 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity open champion, Boonlight Dancer (out of Little Dancer Lena-Smart Little Lena), an earner of $118,286; Jasons Peptolena (out of Amys Little Date-Smart Little Lena), an earner of $79,397; and Picka Patcha Pepto (out of Patches Of Blue-Smart Little Lena), an earner of $71,983.
Peptoboonsmal was owned by Larry Hall Cutting Horses until 2007, when he was acquired by current owner Jackson Land & Cattle of Jackson Hole, Wyoming/Weatherford, Texas.
Dualin Pepto competed at the NCHA cutting Futurity to miss the final by just 1 point. He showed a good style on a cow and plenty of athletic ability. Dualin Pepto commenced his campdraft career with Drew and Sal Stevenson from Benalla Stock Horses and from a handful of outings placed and scored very well in his first season campdrafting.
Dualin Pepto was 5th in the Snaffle bit Cutting at Paradise Lagoons Campdraft, he made the finals in the Open draft at Hughenden and Julia Creek Campdrafts, and was achieving scores of upto 87 in his rounds.
In late 2013 we purchased Dualin Pepto from Drew and Sal and decided to campaign him with Nathan Wilson on the Campdrafting circuit for 2014. His first draft with Nathan was at the Landmark $20’000 Open draft, where he ran a 23 camp score, a 53 outside and a 3 for course, he was unlucky in missing the gate in his round, and narrowly missed the final.
His next outing was at Winton Campdraft in March 2014, which saw him run a 87 in the first round of the open, an 89 in the second round, and a massive 91 in the final round to take out equal 3rd place in the Open draft overall, just one point behind Ben Hall on his multiple open wining mare Just Like Jess.
Dualin Pepto competed at the Powlathanga campdraft in June 2014 to finish 2nd overall in the Stallion draft with a run of 87 points, ridden by Nathan Wilson. On the 16th of May he was awarded his Register Of Merit in Performance by the Australian Quarter Horse Association.
Dualin Pepto produces lovely tall solid boned foals, that are quiet, good tempered, athletic, and tall. He has been mated to mostly Australian Stock Horse and Quarter Horse Mares from performance bloodlines. Dualin Pepto’s oldest foals are just being started under saddle and are showing a lot of promise as future Challengers, Campdrafters, and Performance Prospects.
In 2014 Dualin Pepto will not be available to the public in 2016. 2015 yearlings will be available to purchase from the stud.
